Day 7: Love

The antidote to selfishness is LOVE. To the Sanguine that loves to speak, "If [you] speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, [you] are a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal". To the analytical Melancholy "if [you] have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, but [you] have not love, [you] are nothing." To the optimistic Choleric that loves to work "if [you] have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, [you] are nothing. To the Phlegmatic, even if [you] give away all [you] have, and deliver up [your] body to be burned, but have not love, [you] gain nothing. This is the definition of Love: Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. In love, we thi

Selfishness is part of human nature. Everyone is selfishness at some point and to some degree. The choleric with a keen mind thinks of goals, ideas and plans. He focusses on his goals and the tasks associated with its fulfillment. However, he is sefish when he does not care about the welfare and wellbeing of the people involved in supporting him to make his ideas a reality. He wants his tasks to be done as quickly as possible and he is ready to be ruthless with anyone who wants to hinder his move. The Sanguine has a fun-loving mind, he is always full of jokes and likes people to be attracted to him because of his jokes and friendliness. He exhibits the selfish traits when he gets upset when he is not at the centre of people's attraction. He also does not like to take responsibility

His lively and fun-loving mind seem to always have its bank full of jokes and funny stories that generously and effortlessly flows out of his mouth. However, he exhibits a shallow thinking pattern by avoiding in-depth, problem-solving, solution - based thinking. His mind is greatly controlled by the outward force of emotion. His mind is like a leaf blown by the wind of what he sees, hears, tastes and feels. This makes him give complements such as: 'how beautiful', 'how colourful', 'how delicious', 'how lovely' and so on. His mind engages in minimal thought processing which is a limiting factor. He suffers forgetfulness and tends to being apologetic so often. When a he is scolded or told off, he soon forgets what he was corrected on and makes the same mistake again, then apologises.  It

It is a mind that can comprehend, assimilate, discern and make sound decisions. It is not lazy or passive; neither is it looking for others to think and decide for it . A sound mind is large enough to accept others, not judging, not condemning, and not criticizing. It is not proud and not boastful; rather it is a mind that has considerations for others and esteems others. If you have a sound mind, you will have sound relationships with people. For your thoughts to positively affect the expression of your temperament you must possess a sound mind. You can have a sound mind if you wan

Day 1: Thoughts and Temperaments

It is no more news that your thoughts influence your words, actions, reactions and even your relationship with people at home, at work and in business. Out of your thoughts is issued out the fountain of life.* Your thought is the fountain, the bedrock and the foundation of all you do; in summary,  you are your thoughts.** Your thoughts however might be influenced by your temperament. Temperament is considered a biological component (in born traits)of a person's personality, which reflects in his physical, emotional, mental, spiritual, and social life. However, it can be modified through education, environment and experience. In the next few days we will look at how your temperament can influence your thoughts, words and actions. For some, this influence may be evident in its raw forms, some others may have it evident as a modified form; while some my show signs of combination of temperaments with its corresponding combinations of thought patterns. His thoughts are usually quick, instantaneous and intuitive in nature; he appears to be able to make decisions for himself and others very quickly though he may lack depth and detail. When he is thinking of his plans he is very optimistic and certain, ready to take bold and daring steps. He lacks critical thinking that makes him blind to potential pitfalls and obstacles. The choleric lacks emotion and sentiment as his thoughts are usually focussed on the tasks to be completed and the goal to be achieved not necessarily the people contributing to the achievement of the goal. His thinking tends to be opportunistic in nature as he explores ways of getting the best out of the peopl

In his attempt to solve problems, he tends to go overboard and personal making other people's problems his problem and even becoming worried about it.
